Samantha Wesoly, MS, CGC

Associate Program Director, Capstone Coordinator

Samantha Wesoly is an ABGC-certified genetic counselor and currently serves as the Associate Program Director and Capstone Coordinator for the University of Connecticut’s Genetic Counseling Professional Science Master’s Degree (UConn GC PSM) Program. She spent eight years working as a clinical genetic counselor in various clinical settings across Connecticut, where she specialized in pediatric and adult rare disease. During this time, she also served as a clinical supervisor for many genetic counseling trainees, helping to support the development of the next generation of genetic counselors. She is deeply committed to diversifying the genetic counseling workforce, which is why she was motivated to join the UConn GC PSM Program. She is dedicated to fostering inclusive educational environments and champions research promoting J.E.D.I. initiatives in genetic counseling education and clinical care. In addition to her role at UConn, she currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Genetic Counselors Association (CTGCA). Samantha is proud to now teach at the university where she received her undergraduate training; she earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology from the UConn and her Master of Science in Human Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh.
