Student Support & Services

We’re committed to supporting every student’s success-academically, professionally, and personally.

Academic Advising

Program leadership provides ongoing academic advising and meets formally with each student at least once per semester to discuss progress, goals, and individual needs.

University services

As a UConn student, you have access to a wide range of university resources, including:

Community

Our students stay connected through a variety of methods, including group chats, social media, in-person gatherings, dedicated Slack communities, where they share advice on rotations, housing, coursework, and life in the program.

Well-being

Genetic counseling training is rigorous, and we take your well-being seriously. We build self-care and professional resilience into our professional-development coursework and encourage students to make use of UConn’s health and counseling resources whenever they’re needed.
